WWE presents a PPV called the night of champions where every match is a title match. We haven't seen a PPV like that since...Backlash. Only Backlash had 6 title matches whereas Vengeance will have 9 for us to not care about.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match:
Sgt. Slaughter and Superfly Jimmy Snuka Vs. Deuce and Domino
Hey, that's who PwInsider says is in the match. I personally can't believe that a match with this much potential to be horrible could actually take place. However, whether this ends up being the match or not, it was worth posting if only for Mark Danger's comment which can be seen below.
As for the match itself, this could be very horrible and I'm glad I won't have to actually spend money to see it. IAt least its not Naturals V. 2.0 in the Major Brothers. Taking the tag belts off of D&D would be stupid if these opponents are right.

WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match:
Jimmy Wang Yang Vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Ah, the Cruiserweight title. I remember fondly the days when it was a regularly featured part of the show. Then WCW folded and those days ended. How many people even remembered that Chavo Guerrero was the Cruiserweight champion before this match was announced? I'll never forget how the longest cruiserweight reign ever ended in the middle of a freaking gauntlet. Yay Dubble-Dubble-E!
As for the match it should be decent if given time but given we've got 9 matches tonight I've got to wonder how much some of these undercard matches will get. Does it really matter who does or does not have the title? I'm going to predict though that Jimmy will be more successful than Andy when it comes to Wang's.

WWE Women's Championship Match:
Candice Michelle Vs. Melina
Candice has vastly improved as of late. I wonder if the WWE will reward her for that?
Candice has won like every match in this feud. I'm half tempted to pick her to win if for no other reason than Jillian Hall is on Raw and will get the belt eventually. Plus, with Johnny Nitro on ECW there's nobody to take Melina's heat for her. However, since she has lost every time...I'm going to predict Melina to win, why not?
Winner: Melina

WWE United States Championship Match:
Ric Flair Vs. MVP
MVP is getting to work with some great men and he is actually getting better unlike Batista who seems to suck more as the years pass us by.
They're actually using Ric Flair for something that involves him wrestling and doesn't involve the black hole of suckatude that is Carlito these days. However, MVP just got the belt, Flair doesn't need a belt and even if he is going to get the belt it shouldn't be on the first try.
Winner: MVP

World Tag Team Championship Match:
The Hardy Boys Vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch
One of the matches with a spectacular build of not much happening to set it up. There is sort of a story here with the Hardys and Cade/Murdoch being friends until the Hardys were beaten up after ONS and had to wrestle them on Raw and lost the titles.
I've heard that the Hardys are done as a team, but then we've been hearing that since December at the earliest. Well, I don't know if they are done or not but I do know that they're not beating Cade and Murdoch for the tag team titles.
Winners: Cade and Murdoch

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Umaga Vs. Santino Marella
How many people still remember that Santino beat Umaga for the title? How many people still remember that Umaga used to be a monster?
The Santino experiment has been a spectacular sucess up to this point. This is only true however, if you believe the point was for it to be a complete and total and utter failure. Nobody cares about this man and sure feuding him with Chris Masters didn't help. Umaga doesn't need the title, but the title doesn't need Santino. I see Santino winning though probably by DQ.
Winner: Santino

ECW Championship Match:
CM Punk Vs. Chris Benoit
I think this could be a heck of a championship match if given time. Given the number of matches on this card, and given that this is the ECW belt I wonder how much time it will actually get? This match is such that were I not completely bothered by WWE's main angle, I'd actually order this show to see this match. Fortunately for my cable bill, I am bothered and am not inclined to support them financially.
As I said the match should be good and that's true even if it is a short one. I think it is too early to put the ECW title on CM Punk and would be really stupid for them to pull the triggar so early. However, it still could happen because the phrases "really stupid" and "ECW" are often found in the same sentences. Plus, its not like he's wrestling Marcus Cor Von for the belt...there's no shame in Chris Benoit beating your ass.

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Do or Die
Batista Vs. Edge
The one match on the card that has actually been built up. Edge has gotten good stuff out of Batista putting him on the short list of people who were able to do so.
This story is so simple even WWE can't screw it up...too badly. Batista loses this match and starts doing whatever he can to ensure that Edge loses the title. Plus, there is more upside in Edge than Big Dave any day of the week. Of course the problem is that they don't have any babyface challengers on Smackdown now that it has concluded being Raw's biatch in the supplemental draft. I suppose they could go with Flair for awhile, and Rey will be back soon but that shows how thin the Smackdown side of things is now.
Winner: Edge

WWE Championship Challenge Match:
Randy Orton Vs. Mick Foley Vs. Bobby Lashley Vs. King Booker Vs. John Cena
Talk about a match that is happening for no reason. Booker's return is in a meaningless 5 way. Foley is wrestling in a match that isn't even remotely special. Lashley's first meeting with Cena involves 3 other men. I've only named some of the dumber aspects of this match but there are plenty more for my fellow contributors to write about.
I think this will be given the most time on the show and rightfully so. I don't believe it will be as good as KOTM last week but I also don't think it will be as confusing. As for a winner, I'm quite frankly torn. The WWE is all about protecting John Cena, so they would in his case be more likely to take the belt off of him without him actually losing, see every title change in a 3-way in TNA history. However, that would also make Cena look like kind of a punk and I don't know that they'd want to do that even for a day.
I'm ruling out Foley as getting the belt because quite frankly, he sucks now. It pains me to say it but when was the last time you heard an even half-way decent promo from Mick Foley? It was probably the Ric Flair feud...last summer!!! Bobby Lashley winning the title in a 5-way nobody cares about and wasn't built up for sh-t doesn't seem like how they'd want to do that but hey he won his first title in the Elimination Chamber and nobody cared about it, so never mind. King Booker...it strikes me as too soon. So it is either going to be Cena or Orton that wins the match. Orton is being punished for wrecking a hotel room by being burdened with a huge push, and my gut reaction to this match when it was announced was that this was how they were going to take the title off of Cena. I just don't see it happenening even though for a long while I really did, but Cena to retain. If he loses it will be to Orton though but Orton willl probably pin Foley or something ain't no way Cena's getting pinned.

Wade may want to flush money down the toilet on this crap out of bordom but I have never and pray to God Jesus and the Late Mr. McMahon will never be so bored. I will spend my night watching Friday's Cung Le fight over and over and over again if necessary.
